Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Division of Youth & Family Services

I have temporary custody of a child his parents are institutionalized in State facilities, his Aunts did not want him. He asked my son if he could come and live with us. The Judge who gave me temporary custody said that the courts will notify DYFS so that all services can be rendered. DYFS comes to my home to visit the child but in the same context they are saying he is not there responsibility as he did not come through there system. How can this be. My belief if a child's parents are in State facilities, DYFS is responsible for that child whether or not he/she came through there system. Please help

Re: Division of Youth & Family Services

I suggest you get an attorney to untangle this situation for you. I would have to call up DYFS and figure out what the real story is for myself. If they are not dealing with the case, I know the people in DYFS that can point me in the right direction.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.
