Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Grandparent contact

I would like to find out how I can get info on my granddaughters health , school grades, happiness and get a picture of her. My son is amoung the missing and my daughter-in-law hates him, so she and I do not get along if I try to call Kelsey she screens the calls I can't get any info from Kelsey's school, because of some rule. I have done nothing wrong to anyone, don't I have any rights?

Re: Grandparent contact

You will have rights as a grandparent. It is pretty clear that a Judge will have to order your granddaughter's mother to give you the info.

You need to let me and the other attorneys who answer these questions know: where in New Jersey is this woman?

The attorney you hire will have to be near her, so that the attorney can go to Court in the county where she lives.

If you would like me to help you, please give me a call; I am in Hackensack (northern New Jersey). I will be happy to discuss this with you; a brief telephone consultation will be free.

My contact information can be obtained from the links below, just click on the Attorney Profile link.

Re: Grandparent contact

You didn't say whether your granddaughter lives in Florida or New Jersey. You listed both states in your post.

If your granddaughter lives in Florida, then I have some very bad news for you, and my answer is quite different than that of the New Jersey lawyer who posted earlier. The Florida courts will not give any rights to grandparents. Your rights are only those that are given to you through the parents. Florida does not allow for any direct grandparents' rights.

I wish you luck, and I hope your granddaughter lives in New Jersey.
