Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

I was in an accident where i was at a stop light and a limo driver hit be from behind. I got limo insurance company information and policy number as well as the operator of the car that hit me drivers license number and his name. I also have the name and number for the limo company he works for but i didn't get the license plate number or VIN number from the car he was driving and now i cannot get the limo insurance company to address my claim because they keep telling me they need the license plate number for the car or the VIN number. I also cannot get the information from the limo company because they keep telling me that their driver still haven't reported any accident and they will have to get intouch with the driver because they have so many driver. I would like to know if i have any legal action i can take to either get the license plate or VIN number of the car from them, or any legal action i can take to have their insurance company take care of the $524 damage to my car. Also since i have the drive license number can i get the DMV to provide me with information on the driver so i can attempt to get this info? Would very much appreciate any advise you can provide
