Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

Car Accident

While i was attempting to make a left turn, a the car behind me was rear ended and then hit me. When the police arrived i was informed that i wasnt supposed to turn & was given a ticket for making an improper turn even though i had never actually made the turn. Would i be liable for possible damage to the vehicles and/or drivers/passengers of the other two cars involved? What affect does me receiving the ticket have on my liability?

Re: Car Accident

The fact you were given a ticket proves nothing. The issue is whether your being stopped at that location was a contributing cause of the accident.

Re: Car Accident

you may be found partially at fault. of course the vehicle behind you should have given himself enough distance to stop in time. see Dolson v. Anastasia case. Turn this over to your insurance company. I would also fight the ticket ifn you did not make the turn and realized that youcould not.
