You need to have the judgment transcribed in the Supreme Court in NY and if the debtor has any property w/in the state then an automatic lien would then be imposed. This area of law is one of our specialties, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination. You are welcome to contact us for a free consultation.

Re: Judgement collection form another State

First thing. IF the judgment was entered as a result of a DEFAULT by the debtor (he/she did not respond to the summons and complaint you servd in the PA proceeding) you CANNOT enforce the PA judgment in NY directly. You cannot domesticate a foreign judgment obtained by default in New York State. You have to start a new action in NY using the default judgment obtained in PA as the basis for the law suit. THen, assuming you win a judgment in NY you can proceed to enforce it assuming you can find seizable assets here. My guess is your debtor is a deadbeat and has nothing. SInce you did not specify the amount owed I cannot give additional advise.
