Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Law Center representing me went bankrupt

I placed some of my debts with a company origingally called Law Centers for Andrew F. Cappocia in order to have them negotiate and settle them on my behalf. They then changed their name to Law Centers for consumer credit. This was in 1998. They have settled some but not all. I recently called them to get a statement and their message said that they have filed involuntary bankruptcy and we will be hearing from a bank. I still have about $4000 in an account with them that they were supposed to be negotiating with. Will I get that back? How does this affect my terms with the creditor with whom they were negotiating? What should I do now?

Thanks

Re: Law Center representing me went bankrupt

If the law center was run by an attorney I suggest you contact the local bar association & file a complaint.
