Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

i received a summons against a debt collector from my medical bills when i have a delivery 3 years ago. i called my insurance and they said i don't have any responsibility to pay them. my insurance sent me a document regarding the medical bills and it was stated there that i have 0.00 responsibility. how will i answer my summon? please help me. I am the only one who works in my family since my husband lost his job and now taking care of our son.

Did your carrier explain why there is no responsibility? You must answer the complaint or you will lose by default. Raise the issue, but be ready with proof at the trial.
