divorce

my wife and i have been living apart for over a year. she left me and we have not got back together since then. I want to start divorce procedures and need some help

You should contact a qualified matrimonial attorney in your area. Your local county bar association should be able to help with a referral, or try the New York State Bar Association.

If your wife left more than a year ago, you can file for divorce based on the fact that she abonded you. You should contact a lawyer to help you with this.

I agree with the other two lawyers. There is no law that states that you can force her back to living with you.

You are neither fish nor foul. You are not enjoying the benefits of marriage, nor are you divorced so that you can find someone else.
