Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

I bought a 4 wheeler for my kids when they were young teens. My son who is now 21 is suing me for the 4 wheeler or 3k dollars, which was never his nor ever registered to him. Hence, he is mad at me because the family court terminated child support to his mother for him because he's 21. Does he even stand a chance of winning?
