Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

Nyc housing

My mom lived in nyc housing for 16 years, after I moved out my mom took my name off the lease. I moved back home to help her out while she was sick. During this time she didn't get around to putting my name back on the lease.Recently my mom has passed away so my question is Is there a way I can keep the apartment without my name being on the lease. What can I do?

Re: Nyc housing

I am sorry for your loss.

1. You qualify as a 'surviving family member' because you were residing in the apartment to assist your mother.

If you have any trouble getting a lease for the apartment as a 'SFM', let me know by email and we can make an appointment.
