Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

suspended registration

I just found out my license and regustration were suspended by the DMV. The insurance company I was going through indicated I had a lapse in coverage (their admitted error to me)and waited several months to rectify the situation. I have tried to no avail to get paperwork from them stating their mistake. Instead, they refunded me the monies I had been paying for 4 1/2 months stating they were taking over when the proble was discovered. I have not (luckily) received a ticket from anyone, but did not get notices from the DMV. The insurance carrier will only confirm over the phone what happened. What do I do? I know that - due to no fault of mine - I will need to probably turn in my plates, but I can not afford to be without a vehicle. there is still a lein on the car due to a loan to buy it. Is it possible to transfer a registration when there is still a title lein? I need help!

Re: suspended registration

You may not want to disclose on this forum all the reasons why both your license and registration have been suspended. Contact a local NYS DMV office.
