Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

How Can This Be Possible?

How can a District Attorney charge you for possession when you did not possess drugs at the time of arrest and how would you go about defending yourself against such a serious charge when it was someone else's fault and you told the police this information? What are the chances you'll be proven innocent?

You do not have to have the drugs on you at the time of arrest. If there is any evidence that you at one time possesed drugs, that is sufficient for a criminal charge. You defend yourself by either retainina a lawyer or having one appointed. Based on the little info here, I can't predict chances of acquital. However, it is a drug offense and there are not too many acquitals in this area. If this is a felony possession offense, I would strongly recommend an attorney.

Good luck
