Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina

I was employeed part time at a hospital that initiated a policy to make the flu shot mandatory. I was never told of the policy I found out by a sticker on a pay check stub but there was no deadline date mentioned. I was never was shown or told of the policy or mandatory deadline. I received my flu shot from my full time employer. I was terminated due to not complying with the policy,I received my flu shot prior to the deadline that I wasn't aware of until after my termination but was told since they didn't have my paperwork that there was nothing they could do. My manager never made me aware and when he finally contacted me stated that I was called several times which my phone records will show I wasn't called by the facility. I have also tried calling human resources but was transferred to occupational health which told me it was a human resource issue and I was told that they would give my name to the vice president of human resources and that she would contact me by phone. I was never contacted by any hospital personnel. I was wondering if I have any rights in this situation and if there is anything I can do about it.

Unfortunately, you can be fired for any legal reason in North Carolina. Being falsely accused is not an illegal reason.

You should file for unemployment. You seem to be eligible for those benefits. If you do not receive them or if your employer appeals the decision, you should call an attorney to get your unemployment benefits.
