Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina

65 in 45, 1st offense

I received a ticket for doing 65 in a 45 zone in Johnston County, NC. I have never had a ticket before. It is better to take a PJC (if possible) or try and get it reduced to 9 over? I'm worried with the PJC that if I move to another state, the points would show up. Is it possible to contact the clerk (or ADA, I'm not sure who it would be) before the court date and try and get it reduced? I would like to try beforehand in case I fail and have time to get an attorney.

Thanks

Some counties give non-moving violations and that is the best option. It migt be wise to call an attorney and see if that is an option.

Otherwise, you can always go down there and if you don't like what they offer, just ask for a continuance and hire an attorney before the next court date.

I generally prefer to save the PJC and use the 9 over since it won't cause your insurance to go up in NC if it is your only one.
