Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Dakota

credit card debt of deceased spouse

My husband died in Dec. 2006. He had 3 credit cards in his name which I was not authorized to use. The debt totals over $15,000. Am I responsible to pay off these cards?

Re: credit card debt of deceased spouse

These would generally be considered unsecured claims against his estate.

Did he have a WIll?

Are there any assets of his estate?

I would need to review the full picture to advise.
