Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

my husband took a VOLUNTARY separation from his employment 3 months ago. he got a lump sum payment for this and he continues to receive his salary for a year. we are now getting ready to divorce, the monies (lump sum) he received are considered marital assets is it not?

A spouse's retirement benefits are considered a martial assets, regardless of how they are paid out. Keep in mind that as soon as a divorce action is filed, marital assets are deemed to be frozen so that money can't be moved around very easily.
