The cheapest way would be to hire an attorney to represent you in drafting up the necessary dissolution papers. The quicker you and your ex can agree on how to split up property the less time the attorney will spend on your case and the more cost effective it will be for you. Your attorney will have to advise your ex that your attorney represents only you and not your ex. Your ex can then sign an acknowledgment that she has been advised of such and still does not want her own attorney. Of course, this only works if the attorney you retain is capable of being fair and proposing a fair agreeable deal between the parties, while still represnting your best interests. If this is possible, then the legal costs are cut in half. Perhaps you and your wife could also agree to split the fees. Again, and just to reinforc the mantra, its simpler and cheaper if you and your ex can work together. The hours pile up when the ex couple cannot or will not cooperate at all.

If you wish to discuss your case further at no cost to you, feel free to contact me.
