Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Ohio

Who has rights to your med. records

I think I have kidney stones. I have have had cycles of high fever (104), chills etc. over the past nine months or so. THe physician I go to ran numerous tests on me with no results. I heard of a good female, however she had never heard of her and would not give me a referal. I called the urologist office they were shocked that my physician had not heard of them, since she is well known in Ohio.

The office is at the other end of town and so my husband walked in (without my knowledge) and picked up my medical records. I NEVER gave permission to anyone to pick up my records. Although, I don't mind my husband getting the records...I was shocked to see they could be handed out so readily. Suppose this (which it is not) was an abuse case!

Meanwhile, I am in pain because the doctor I need can not see me without a recommendation and my current physician will not help me. HELP!
