Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Does anybody have to be included in a will?

My father died shortly after my brother. My father left everything to my mother. She had her will done just recently. Does she have to leave something to each of her children and (my brother who died had one son)does she have to leave my brothers son anything? People have said they've heard that she is suppose to leave my brothers son his part of the inheritence. Is this true, and can she leave certain adult children out if she so chooses?

Re: Does anybody have to be included in a will?

Your mother has no obligation to leave anything to any person you've named. She should be sure to mention by name her closest living relatives who she is excluding, including the child of your deceased brother, to lessen the chance of a will contest.
