Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Oklahoma

credit in a disabled relative's name

A profoundly retarded individual I know has been declared incompetent by the court and a guardian has been appointed for him. His guardians have obtained credit cards in his name that have gone into collections. I believe he is being financially exploited and I have reported the matter to the long term care authority. Is what his guardians have done illegal, and if so, what kind of charges might they face?

You need to take the evidence that you have and draft a letter to the judge that appointed the Guardian. Send the evidence to the judge. The judge will yank a knot in their tail. Additionally, when they were appointed the judge most likely made them post a bond. The bonding company will pay the debt and then go after them as well. If you desire to be appointed Guardian, then you should hire an Atty and go after them!
