Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

What can I do about a creditor who is harrassing me? I know I owed the money but I did not have it then(1996) and I do not have it now. They found my new address and have been calling me at least 8 times a day like every 2 hours. I just lost my sister last week and am in no condition to deal with them right now. What can I do?

Contact a consumer attorney, either myself or another one, and we can send a cease and desist letter to them. If the debt is over 10 years old like you say, then you probably should not have to pay it.

With that many phone calls each day, that is a violation of the FDCPA and you may have a lawsuit against them.

I concur with the other response on here. You should consult with an atorney and put the creditor on notice.
