Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

Recovering compensation for damage

I was in an automobile accident on thanksgiving! there was massive damage to my vehicle. my problem is there was a lapse in my insurance policy so that perticular day i was not insured! The police said it was the other drivers fault because he ran a red light so in other words the police are considering it 100% his fault! my question is without having car insurance of my own how do i go about getting restitution for the damage done to my car?!

Re: Recovering compensation for damage

Since the other driver was at fault, his/her insurance company will pay to repair your car. It's a good idea to take your own photos of the damage to your car. Also, make arrangements for the other driver's insurance company to pay for a rental car during the time your car is not driveable. Good luck!!

Re: Recovering compensation for damage

Hopefully no one was hurt, and I'll skip the lecture about driving without insurance.

You collect for the physical damage to your car the same way you would if you had insurance but no collision coverage: from the other driver's insurance company. They'll probably be calling you soon. Meanwhile, get copies of the police report and a couple estimates for the car repair.
