Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

damge

I'm the buyer. Two days prior to settlement a pipe burst in the house, causing major damage to all rooms in the signgle family home. The seller is in the process of going through his insurance company for the damage. Do I have a say on how the repairs to the property should be handled. I'm afraid he will pocket some of the money and do a lousy job on the fixes. please help.

Re: damge

I suggest you obtain an attorney. You can demand some say in the repairs or seek to released from the agreement of sale. You should also request the right to approve the work to be done. Your broker may be able to help you. Gerald M. Hershenson 215-579-9390
