Legal Question in Family Law in Puerto Rico

Married in fl husband filing for divorce in puerto rico

My husband left me and moved to Puerto Rico now he wants a divorce and said the papers on on their way to me to sign we were married in Florida...I have seen a lawyer where I live and heard from the courts in P.R. that he can file their and be divorced within so many days 30 without me having to sign anything...we have two daughters that live with me. Is this true? I have yet to receive the paperwork he said he sent a month ago.

You need to contact an attorney familiar with PR law. Since you were never in PR, I do not think they have any jurisdiction over you to enter a decree.

He can divorce you but you and your children have rights to make him pay support.
