Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

guardianship in south carolina

My 17 year old son's mother is moving out of state and he wants to finish high school here and live with us. She has custody, what do we need to do legally to change guardianship?

Re: guardianship in south carolina

The simplest option is to execute a child custody agreement that transfers custody to you. Of course, there are better and worse ways to make this happen, so it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case. If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
