Legal Question in Immigration Law in Tennessee

Naturalization

I am a Green Card holder residing in US sine June 2005. Intend to pursue further studies abroad from June 2009. Have resided continuously in US since arrival. Will my going abroad for studies affect my N-400 application, if I maintain residence by returning to US every 6 months.

Re: Naturalization

You may want to consider filing for a re-entry permit so that you do not have to return to the US every 6 months, and can maintain your LPR status while studying abroad. You still may have issues regarding the physical presence requirement prior to filing for naturalization, but a re-entry permit would ensure that you do not have problems with abadoning your LPR status while studying abroad.
