Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Tennessee

Medical Neglect

I was in a serious car wreck and taken to the MED. I was told that I was too large to have a CAT. They had to cut me from my belly button about 3 inches down to see if I had internal bleeding. I had to lay on a backboard and neck brace for over 8 hours because they said i wouldn't fit in the CAT scan. That night I was awaken by a strange man lifting the covers, revealing my naked body and asking how much I weigh? He then stated you are to big for my table and left me uncovered. When the morning shift came in I was taken to CAT Scan and they had no problem running my through. Do I have a Lawsuit?

Re: Medical Neglect

If I understand correctly, Doctors at the MED had to perform surgery on you because of MED employees' erroneous belief that you were too large for the CAT scan. I also understand that there appears to have been an unreasonable delay in performing the CAT Scan. If Doctors or MED staff deviated from the acceptable standard of care and that deviation caused you to be injured and suffer damages, you have a potential suit.

If you would like to discuss the potential medical malpractice case we will be glad to do so. We will also discuss your automobile accident with you to see if you have a potential cause of action from that.
