Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Tennessee
I resigned my job due to sexual harrassment
Back a couple of months ago I broght this to my employer's attention & nothing changed so I quit & was promised that it would change if I would come back, which I did. But of course it didn't change. Due to the horrific situation that I had to endure I quit my job again and I would like to know if I am entitled to unemployment benefits?

Re: I resigned my job due to sexual harrassment
In most states if you leave your job for justifiable reasons, such as being asked to put up with unbearable conditions, this usually will justify recovery of unemployment benefits even though you "voluntarily" left your job. Of course it ultimately involves a fact issue to be resolved by the ALJ or hearing officer involved.
Pay close attention for the time period given you to seek such benefits. You also may have an EEOC claim or other type of claim and time will soon run on these as well. If you intend to seek relief contact the appropriate state or federal agency and I would recommend that you discuss the matter with an attorney with experience in this area.
