Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Sick Daughters Credit Card Bill

Our 26 year old daughter was diagnosed with bypolar disease.

One of the side effects is go on a shopping spree. Well she did and ran up several credit cards, which we did not even know she had, or further more didn't know she could even get one. One of the Companies called and said they were going to sue for the entire amount. Are we as parents obligated to pay this bill or suffer in the end.

Re: Sick Daughters Credit Card Bill

You are not legally responsible for your adult daughter's debts unless you have co-signed or placed yourselves as guarantor in some fashion or another, or have been legally appointed as her guardian.
