Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Custody

I am divorced and have a 14yr old child. My daughter has lived with me for the last 13 years in Texas and now her father wants her to stay with him in New York. There is no custody order in place. What rights do I have?

Re: Child Custody

You really need to have a custody order in place. I'm actually quite surprised that the court did not require a custody order during the divorce.

Feel free to contact my office for a free consultation -- I can discuss the process for obtaining a custody order in a case such as yours.
