cps has taken my children away from the family due to the babysitter walked off and left them alone, what is my recourse of getting them back

You can hire a lawyer who specializes in fighting the CPS, and pay him about $5000 in advance.

But it's easier, when dealing with the CPS, just to roll over and play dead. Take their "parenting classes." Be humble. Show up in court at all the hearings. You'll hate it, but it's the easiest way.
