I guess I should clarify. Your obligation to the finance company is independent of your rights under your auto insurance. Seek your auto insurance as appropriate but this does not alter your obligation to the financer of your property. If your house burns down, you still have to pay on it. If you lose a ring or break a television you bought on credit, you still have to pay the credit card bill, etc.
