Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Flood damage

My home was flooded by the city sewer lines. The city will not pay for cleanup or damages totaling $15,000 even though they said it was their lines. I know it is impossible to sue the city and win but will it be more likely we could take them to small claims court? At least we could get some reimbursement. It is a water authority that answers to the city.

Thanks for your answer.

Re: Flood damage

Speak to a lawyer that handles negligence suits against government entities. Don't immediate jump to the wrong conclusion that it's impossible to sue the city and win.

Re: Flood damage

You can sue the city and win. (I used to be a city attorney). You can win on this type of case if you can find somebody to work it. Good Luck.
