The regulation of your school will determine if you can get a nursing degree or not. Title 2 section 53 of the Occupation Code does not completely bar you from being licenced as a nurse since your conviciton does not impact the practise of nursing. However this depends on why and when you were convicted. There is the 5 yr rule and the nature/reason behind your action. You may have being helping the poor immigrant without knowing that they were illegal. It is likely that they board of nursing will start you off with a probatory license. Pl. see a lawyer for advice that is particularised to your situation.
