Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

I did work as an independent contractor. I was supposed to be paid for labor and mileage on a net 30 upon completion of the work. The work was completed on the 11th of July. Today is the 27th of August and I have still not been paid.

Questions

1. Is it reasonable to request an interest fee for every day over the 30 day mark?

2. Is there a standard amount of interest I should request?

3. At what point am I within my rights to take legal action to get paid?

If u have not done so, submit your invoice. If u ask for interest, not only will you raise hackles but you may void your claim since by law, interest is limited and it could be usurious..If u have to sue, let your lawyer collect legal interest and costs..Don't destroy your claim. But common sense means you should have been paid unless it is a big job..etc..
