Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

I have worked for a trucking company based in Oklahoma for three years now as contractlabor. I signed a contract 3 years ago and now I'm unemployed. And this company is telling me that I can't file for unemployment and that they don't need a reason for letting me go. Can I file for unemployment ?
