Personal Injury case settlement payment

When a case is won by your P.I. attorney, when the Company pays up, does the check have to go into the Trust Fund set up by your PI attorney according to the rules of the Legal Bar Association or can you have your own accounts for your settlement?

Typically, the funds would go to the attorney's IOLTA trust account.
