Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My father, whom I have not spoken to in 8 years, passed away a couple of weeks ago with no will and no assets left in his name. He had completed a reverse mortgage so the house will go back to the bank. There are just some credit card and hospital bills left to deal with. There are no other next of kin, and I don't want to be the estate administrator since there really is no estate, just debts. How do I make it officially known that his estate is insolvent and how do I turn the issue over for the courts in Texas to handle? Who do I notify? What forms do I need to fill out?

You don't need to do anything. Creditors may contact you but you are not responsible for your dad's debts unless you co signed them. Just tell them exactly what you put in your question. Some questionable debt collectors, may try to make you feel obligated to pay... just tell them to shove it.
