Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

Pregnancy Discrimination

I am currently working and pregnant I have made plans to come back after my maternity leave and I have let my supervisor know this. Our Manager however is bringing is someone new who suspiciously has the same back ground experience as I do plus some. If I were to be let go because this new person is more qualified would it be discrimination? There would be no other reasons to let me go. I have not made any major mistakes with my work or unable to do my job. I don't know that our Manager is aware of my plans to return after the baby.

Re: Pregnancy Discrimination

If your manager does not know you plan on returning, how can the manager save your job for you? Talk to the manager. You are not being discriminated against. Ask your manager if your company is required to observe the Family Leave and Medical Act.
