Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Child Support Enforcement Overseas

My ex husband has fled to Germany and is not pay child support but he is about to enlist in the army but I am not sure. Can anything legally be done to him in the mean time? The passport law did not work and he owes over $3500.

Re: Child Support Enforcement Overseas

Once your former husband has enlisted in the U.S. Army, you'll be able to attach part of his regular army pay for the child support. This would be a far better option that attempting to work through German civil authorities to collect the delinquent child support.

You may wish to contact your local DCSE (Division of Child Support Enforcement) district office for further advice, and, perhaps, assistance in attaching his military pay.
