Minor's Personal Property Filing

Upon receiving custody of my step-daughter, her mother refuses to give her the personal property she had while living with her Mother. What does the Father need to file to require the Mother to return the personal property to the daughter?

Re: Minor's Personal Property Filing

I would not rush into filing anything at this juncture. The custody order should also have included a requirement that the mother turn over to the father the child's personal property.

However, if it did not, I would give this situation some time to resolve itself informally before turning to the courts. Remember, the child's personal items undoubtedly have major symbolic value for this mother.
