Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

after seperating from the father of her children my daughter spent 3 years working hard and trying to keep a roof over her kids head, with NO help from the father, even though the court ordered him to pay child support. She was running a daycare but some of the kids got out of her control and she had to give them up. she took a job dancing to make ends meet and make sure the kids had what they needed. when the father found out she was dancing he took her to court and they gave him custody, said she was unstable in her job. where is the justice in this? she was only doing whatever she could to support her kids since he didnt help her at all.
