Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Can you collect after judgement is satisfied?

I had a judgement that was served on me through the DMV in Va and transferred to BMV in Indiana-my insurance co. paid an amount settled on by the plaintiff and defendant and the order is to be vacated ''Since defendant was not properly served with process of original Warrant in Debt'' (Plaintiff wrote on ''Vacate of Judgement''), plaintiff is now trying to collect $443.00 (remainder of original debt) after judgement has already been satisfied. Can they come after me once the judgement has been satisfied??

Re: Can you collect after judgement is satisfied?

No, if the judgment was satisfied/settled. But here it looks like it was just vacated for lack of service. Your insurance co. should be required to defend you (or, if it settled, produce a release).
