Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Virginia

my attorney failed to file and wage exemption form along with my homestead deed at a loss of mine of the tune of $2200. Anything I can do to recoop those funds? He claimed he didn't know about it and that the clerk of the court should have told me to file it.

You could send a written demand to the lawyer for payment of these funds

or notice that you may have to file a malpractice claim with the appropriate

Virginia court or a bar complaint with the Virginia State Bar as may be appropriate if you are not compensated for this loss for which you hold the lawyer responsible.
