equipment rental fees

my husband and I rented a pice of equipment and had to replace a faulty part, that part was refunded to us, but we had the equipment longer than expected and got charged extra. We asked the rental place to only charge us for the time the machine was ran, and they refused, what can we do?

You should begin by reading through your rental agreement- including all the fine print on the reverse. Once we know what that says, someone can better advise you on what your rights may be.
