Legal Question in Personal Injury in Washington

personal injury lawsuit

My father was involved in a car accident at which he was at fault. 34 months later he is being sued for monetary damages. He has nothing but his social security and a home that still holds a mortgage. Is it possible for the plaintiff to put a lien on his home? Should I contact his insurance company to ask for some help? He is on a limited income and may not be able to defend himself

Re: personal injury lawsuit

You should contact his insurance company as soon as possible. This is why he has car insurance.

The insurance company has a duty to defend him, whether or not he is at fault-- unless you fail to notify the insurer promptly.
