If you were personally served with the notice of a contempt motion, the court does have the right to take you into custody at the hearing. However, if you are able to purge the contemp by paying what is owed, they are most likely going to take the payment. That is what they are attempting to force by a contempt motion anyway. You also can attempt to speak with the attorney seeking contempt to arrange a payment plan acceptable to everyone and therefore avoid any jail time.
