Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

what if I don't want a divorce?

Can my husband force me to divorce him with no grounds? We've been married 8 months - had our first big argument a week ago and, after I confronted him for looking at porn sites on my computer today, he called and blind-sided me with ''I'll have you some papers on a settlement in a few days - if you don't take it - you can talk to the judge''. Oh - did I mention that he's my 4th husband and I'm his SEVENTH wife and that he retired from his pastoring in the Methodist church recently and .... that he owns and controls everything we have????? CAN he force me to divorce him and, if so, what are my rights?

Thanks,

Unfortunately, you cannot stop a divorce from proceeding. However, you can take steps to protect your interests. Consult with a local attorney.
