Legal Question in Business Law in California

Hello,

Is it legal to use another companies name and trademark on my package to promote my product that connects to the other companies product as an add-on?

I invented an ergonomic handle that connects only to Gillette fusion razors and I would like to know; Is it legal for me to use Gillette fusion TM (Print on my products package and for promotional purposes)? For example: iPhone cases manufacturers use Apple iPhone TM on their packages, usually it says on the package - "Silicon case for iPhone 3gs" etc.

Thank You.

You cannot use the Gillette TM without their permission but you can write on your package that your product is compatible with the Gillette Fusion Razor. You should contact a trademark attorney as your case is fact dependent and the design of your packaging could create problems for you.

For the iPhone case manufacturers using Apple iPhone TM, it is likely that they have a licensing agreement with Apple to be able to use Apple's TM.

Goodluck.

If you don't mind getting sue for infringement for using their trade name without authorization.
