Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
My wife lives in Lakeside Ca, and has told me that it is ok there to use a belt to spank a child. I will be moving there soon to join her and her two girls with my son. i was wondering if it is indeed legal to use implements other than the hand to disciplin a child?

I sincerely doubt that you could use a belt. You could expect to see Child Protective Services knocking at your door to take you to jail.

Apart from questioning the need and wisdom of using 'implements' to discipline a child, you risk charges of child abuse, child endangerment, etc. if the child reports or complains about it at school.
